What role should teachers have in dealing with children with mental health issues? Attitudes towards teachers dealing with student mental health.

School teachers are increasingly expected to perform frontline mental health provider roles (Australian Government Productivity Commission, 2020), despite little training or resources. There are reported mixed perspectives on teachers’ ability to effectively deliver a range of psychosocial interventions and there is debate about how much training teachers need. The project will explore attitudes of teachers, parents, community members and mental health professionals towards teachers dealing with mental health.
